The HD16 has two switches, one being a regular click switch and the other a rotary dial. The rotary dial allows for spot and flood light mixing. 
 
This model has a proximity sensor that reduces the brightness when in close distance to an objust for safety. It has a small bug that requires the user to disable to sensor for use at full brightness. I have a few units and they all share the same thing. 4x presses of the switch disables the sensor, and it remains disabled until the battery is removed, it has USB C charging so really you'd only need to disable it just the once.
